Delft
Delft blue emerges in late 16th century as an alternative to the expensive blue and white Chinese porcelain. Unlike Chinese porcelain, Delft blue is not made from Chinese clay, but of composite clays carefully painted and glazed. Another craft; genuinely Dutch. In the most successful period of Delft blue, there were dozens of active pottery factories. Over the course of centuries, almost all of them closed. For a long time Delftware was mainly purchased by international tourists. But, in more recent years, Delftware has regained its value in the Netherlands, especially because younger people love to enrich their decor with it.

Biscuit Porcelain

It has been widely used in European pottery, mainly for sculptural and decorative objects that are not tableware and so do not need a glaze for protection.
Small figurines and other decorative pieces have often been made in biscuit, as well as larger portrait busts and other sculptures.
