Sgraffito is a technique where potters can put a layer of glaze or slip on a piece of pottery, let it dry, then use a pottery carving tool to scratch at it to show the base layer of color.

Dour Ceramics
Located in Dour, this artistic craft workshop was founded in 1951.
The vocation of this workshop was to create decorative or utilitarian ceramic art, monumental or intimate, poetic or expressionist, whose subjects were drawn from daily life and scenery and figures in nature, so that they were accessible to all audiences.
Many vases, trays and panels were produced in this workshop.
