De Bevere - Kortrijk

The foundation of the company De Bevere dates back from 1800.

In the period after the First World War, De Bevere grew more than other companies, but did not reach the size of 1910 anymore.

During the Second World War, De Bevere suffered a lot from a lack of raw materials and workers, as well as from fines, confiscations and bomb damage.

The company ceases in 1950.

As there is little information to be found on the period of manufacturing of each particular pipe, we don't indicate separate time-frames.

Wingender Frères - Chokier

This company was originally started by a brother and sister of the Westerwald pipe maker family Knoedgen, namely Jacques and Marie-Anne Knoedgen who settled in Chokier at the Maas river.

Henri Wingender's marriage to Marie-Anne Knoedgen in 1834 marks the start under the name Knoedgen-Wingender.

When Jacques Knoedgen married in 1838, the brother and sister decide to go their separate ways; the brother leaves for Liège in 1839.

In Chokier, the company continues to operate as Wingender-Knoedgen. In 1874, the transfer to the next generation took place under the leadership of the brothers Félix and Louis Wingender. The company is eventually called Wingender Frères.
